I know how to spend a Saturday night 🤣
I can't show you any drawings at the moment as they are secret Christmas commissions so I thought I'd show how I apply my designs to my bone china gift ware.
I use ceramics transfers applied to fine bone china from a pottery in Staffordshire. I order a sheet of my designs on specialist waterslide paper and laboriously cut them all out! They are then soaked in water for a few seconds before peeling off the backing paper. Once the transfer is lined up I use an old paint brush to squeeze all the water and air bubbles out from under the transfer. They are then left to dry over night before they will be fired in a kiln tomorrow.
This method gives a very durable, quality product and allows me to create small runs of stock and experiment with designs. These new mini jugs, teabag tidies and Trinket boxes will be available later this week in my Etsy Shop.
